Pure wood wins every hygiene comparison
What many people do not know: The natural product wood is extremely hygienic. Numerous studies show that the climate is much less favourable for bacteria and germs on wood than on smooth plastic, lacquer or metal surfaces. For this reason, more and more medical professionals and architects are considering the use of pure wood in clinics and hospitals.
There is also another difference to other building materials, such as plastic: many cheap building materials contain chemicals. These gradually outgas and thus often form the cause of later illnesses and allergies. Wood, on the other hand, is harmless even for allergy sufferers. This is especially true of 100-percent solid wood houses, whose walls, ceilings and roofs are made exclusively of wood.
